Pure CMOS offers the lowest cost silicon solution. It is possible to find design solutions for almost all analog processing problems with a straight CMOS technology. Even the RF world above 500 Mhz has now fallen to the high speed, straight CMOS technologies. Use of low geometry CMOS (<0.25 micron feature size) allows RF designs to several Ghz today.
